Zus\u00e4tzlich zum regul\u00e4ren Museumsprogramm mit Kurzfilm, Freigel\u00e4nde, Ausstellungen und begehbarem Fahrzeugdepot konnten die Gefeller B\u00fcrger und die interessierte \u00d6ffentlichkeit besondere Bildungsangebote wahrnehmen. Das reiche Angebot bot spannende historische Einblicke und Informationen zu Natur und Umwelt f\u00fcr Gro\u00df und Klein. Im Museum nahmen zahlreiche Besucher an kostenlosen Kurzf\u00fchrungen zum historischen Ort \u201eLittle Berlin \u2013 Das geteilte Dorf M\u00f6dlareuth\u201c und an Rundfahrten mit einem Trabant K\u00fcbel der DDR-Grenztruppen teil. Die Stiftung Naturschutz Th\u00fcringen informierte im Freigel\u00e4nde \u00fcber ihre Arbeit und bot am \u00dcbergang des Museumsgel\u00e4ndes zum Gr\u00fcnen Band thematische Kurzf\u00fchrungen an. Interessierte Besucher konnten den in Sachsen gelegenen Erinnerungsort \u201eGrenzturm Heinersgr\u00fcn\u201c besuchen, der zu diesem besonderen Anlass ge\u00f6ffnet wurde. Auf die gr\u00f6\u00dfte Resonanz stie\u00df der am Nachmittag stattfindende Vortrag von G\u00fcnter Wetzel \u201eDer Ballon\u201c. Die mehr als 100 Zuh\u00f6rer trotzten der Hitze des Tages und stellten im Anschluss an die Ausf\u00fchrungen Herrn Wetzels zahlreiche Fragen. Die ber\u00fchmte Ballonflucht hat einen starken regionalen Bezug: Die Familien Strelzyk und Wetzel aus P\u00f6\u00dfneck flohen am 16.09.1979 mit einem selbstgebauten Hei\u00dfluftballon aus der DDR. Sie landeten bei Naila im Landkreis Hof und bauten sich in Westdeutschland ein neues Leben auf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seinen Abschluss fand der historische Tag mit einer Veranstaltung in der Gefeller Stadtkirche.
